Help Save Our Bees

The Great River Coalition on September 23, 2022, sponsored a joint initiative with our partners CenterPoint Energy and Great River Greening, and planted over 6,500 pollinator plants on 12th and West River Parkway along the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Please join us as we plan for a full slate of activities supporting pollinators in 2022.

With the assistance of friends like you, the Great River Coalition is educating community members on the importance of healthy pollinators and collaborating with the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board, local firms, and other like-minded organizations to create suitable pollinator   habitat and enhance the vitality of the Mississippi River environment worldwide!

2022 Earth Day 5K Bee Run/Walk & River Cleanup will bee held in person at Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413 on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022!

Together, we seek to enhance the Minneapolis riverfront environment—for people and pollinators

The Great River Coalition advocates for initiatives and policies that consider the historical, commercial, spiritual, and environmental significance of one of the Twin Cities' greatest assets: the mighty Mississippi. In doing so, we bring awareness to the vital role pollinators play in the health of our riverfront communities. Learn more.

Did you know?

The Minneapolis riverfront is part of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, which holds the distinction as the country's only national park along the Mississippi River. Pollinators rely on this land for critical habitat—and we rely on them. Learn more about our goal of creating a Pollinator Pathway.
